We especially like stories that arise from encounters. Nicola Murtagh, Zambezi Queen Collection<\/a> <\/strong><\/em>Sales Manager is our eyes and ears in Southern Africa and after her return from board she answers our curious questions about her adventure on the river:<\/p>\n

What were you most looking forward to aboard the Zambezi Queen?<\/em><\/p>\n

I was looking forward to seeing what the safari experience was like aboard the ship. My expectations were exceeded as the elephants, hippos, crocodiles and many species more were only a few meters away, and then to see them from my suite was simply magical.<\/p>\n

What does the river sound like at night?<\/em><\/p>\n

The area is very remote, so being away from the noise of the city was very relaxing. I liked the soothing sound of the water, but the sounds of the frogs and hippos at night reminded me how unique the experience is.<\/p>\n

What is your favorite animal and why?<\/em><\/p>\n

I love the leopard. Not only are they beautiful, but they are agile, extremely strong, and good swimmers. They are masters of camouflage, so you are lucky if you see one in your lifetime.<\/p>\n

What’s your favorite spot on the Zambezi Queen?<\/em><\/p>\n

One of the four lounge areas on the top deck. I used to sit here with a refreshing drink in my hand, the breeze blowing, watching the wildlife as the boat cruised along the river. The Zambezi Queen travels a distance of 25 km in the Chobe National Park.<\/p>\n

Does the captain accompany guests on the tender boats when they go on safari?<\/em><\/p>\n

The captain’s name is John, he is tall and friendly. John stays on the boat all the time for safety reasons, yet he is very present from the first day of crew introductions. The staff has been a well-rehearsed team for years.<\/p>\n

Does everyone on board have to show some sort of vaccination card or PCR test?<\/em><\/p>\n

We do not require this on board the Zambezi Queen, as you will be required to present a negative PRC test upon entry into Botswana and Namibia. As things stand, a full vaccination is not required.<\/p>\n

Ihre Wege dauern allerdings durchaus mal l\u00e4nger, weil unterwegs etwas genau zu hinterfragen, betrachten oder fotografieren ist. Ein besonderer Blick \u2013 unvoreingenommen blau\u00e4ugig, geduldig und immer auf der Suche nach der L\u00f6sung. Behutsam haucht sie den Afrika-Geschichten, der Homepage, der Mediagalerie und Social Media Beitr\u00e4gen ihre eigene Pers\u00f6nlichkeit, Emotion und Erfahrung ein. Denn Sandras wunderbare Worte und ihr Feingef\u00fchl f\u00fcr den richtigen Augenblick sind bewundernswert.
